CLERGY CORNER
RABBI REPLAY Did you miss Rabbi David's D'var Torah Sermon last Friday entitled The Power of Words? Please read the Rabbi's words here.
The JCOGS Listening Project
This week,10 members of our community gathered to be trained as interviewers for the JCOGS Listening Project.
The goal of the project is to interview members of our JCOGS community to learn more about your relationship to Judaism and to Israel, about your experience of antisemitism, and how you think JCOGS can best engage with Israel in future programming.
If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact jcogs@jcogs.organd we will get in touch. After the interviews, the community will have a chance to hear what we learned. All information shared with the interviewer will be confidential and shared with the community anonymously.
EDUCATION
Mitzvah Season begins August 10th with Jonah Wohlberg, followed by Adar Fainsilber on August 17th! Come celebrate with our students as they embark on their Jewish adulthood. Let's surround them with loving community. You'll hear some profound Torah wisdom. Please note that RSVPs are required by August 8th for Adar's Mitzvah on Aug 17th. Click here to see more of the upcoming Mitzvah celebrations.
Oneg b'Yachad is a delightful way to share community each Friday evening. Here is how it works:
bring a plated appetizer or dessert (with serving utensil)
It should be simple finger food
Please bring enough to serve at least 4-6 people.
Communal participation also means sharing in a simple cleanup: wiping down tables, a quick sweep of the social hall, and taking out trash. Let’s work together. Please contact Judith Wine: wine.judith@jcogs.organd let her know you'd like to help.
THANK YOU
Debby Sherman, Rita Schnepps, Shoshana Frieden and Judith Wine for Oneg, and Patti Rubin for the ritual set up and clean up.
