PURPOSE
To establish health and safety guidelines for the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS) regarding COVID-19. At this time this policy will be applicable to all activities, meetings, gatherings, life cycle events, holidays, weekly services, and business occurring within or on the property of JCOGS; including all educational programs. These guidelines are set forth to reflect those of the Center for Disease Control and the Vermont department of Health. This policy may change as guidance from these agencies change or as the JCOGS board of directors or the health officer deem necessary to promote pikuach nefesh for our congregation and greater community.

ILLNESS
A person should not come to JCOGS

  • If they are sick or feeling unwell.
  • If they are experiencing symptoms of the Flu or COVID-19
  • If they have been diagnosed with the flu or COVID-19. If they have had a close exposure to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • If a person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 you may enter JCOGS as long as you are no longer experiencing symptoms and have been fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications:
    • Fully vaccinated: 5 days after the day a person received their diagnosis. Please wear a mask until day 10.
    • Unvaccinated: 10 days. MASKING Masking will be optional for all persons coming to JCOGS for all indoor and/or outdoor activities, events, services, and education programs. JCOGS will have masks available for any person who would like one.

VACCINATION
COVID vaccination is greatly encouraged but is not required to attend any offerings, events, celebrations, and education at JCOGS.

LIFE CYCLE EVENTS
A family hosting a life cycle event may choose to have an event or celebration that requires masking and/or vaccination for those attending. This will be up to the discretion of the hosts and will be communicated to all invited guests and others joining the event by the hosts and JCOGS staff as appropriate. JCOGS staff will not be responsible for enforcing or policing host requirements, but will help place signs as appropriate and ensure that JCOGS staff and helpers are aware.
