JCOGS CELEBRATES PRIDE MONTH

Guest speaker, Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman, combination of talking about the week's parsha and speaker's experience as a queer Brunch n Learn: LGBTQ+ Jewish History Timeline Workshop on Saturday June 17th from 10:00-12:00.  Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman, Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman (she/her) is Keshet's Associate Director of Education and Training will be speaking and reflecting on this week's parsha and her experience as a queer Jew and why queer life is important to Jewish people. Lonnie holds a BA in Religious Studies and Art History from Lewis and Clark College and a MA in Hebrew Letters and Ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.

In celebration of Pride month, JCOGS is hosting a special Pride Shabbat on Friday evening June 16th at 6:00 pm with a guest speaker from Keshet. Keshet guest speaker Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman will discuss the week’s parsha in connection with the intersection of being Jewish and LGBTQ, highlighting the relevance of each identity in support of one another. A delicious Oneg sponsored by the "Rainbow Coalition" will follow.

Bagel n’ Learn: LGBTQ+ Jewish History Timeline Workshop

This workshop will use an interactive timeline activity to explore key moments in LGBTQ+ history in the United States and the implications of this history for our work on LGBTQ+ equality and belonging in Jewish life today.

Shoshana is an avid photographer and nature lover who lives with her spunky treat-driven dog Maggie in Stowe. “Finding Jewish Queer community has infused meaning and purpose in my life. It has been pivotal for my personal, spiritual and political growth.”
