ABOUT JONAH

Hello everyone, my name is Jonah and I am 12 years old. I have two brothers and no sisters, and one dog named Mocha. I live in Craftsbury and go to Craftsbury Middle School.  I will be in 7th grade next year. I like to play baseball and basketball, although baseball is my favorite. In baseball this summer I played on Lamoille County All-Stars for my last year of Little League. Another hobby I have is playing chess which I started learning last year. I  have enjoyed practicing online and improving! Although I think there are things about rural Vermont that are cool, like hiking and beautiful trees in the fall, I like visiting the city and being able to go to professional sports games. 

For my Bar Mitzvah, I am reading Parshat Devarim, the first portion of the Book of Deuteronomy, for my Bar Mitzvah ceremony.  I’m excited and nervous for my Bar Mitzvah. 

Practicing for my mitzvah ceremony has been tough, primarily learning to chant the verses, but I know it will be worth it in the end. I am the fourth of my six siblings and cousins to have a Bar/Bat Mitzvah and I am looking forward to the whole family being together this summer, and to the special trip I will be able to go on with my parents. My dad and I are planning an MLB baseball stadium trip, and my mom and I are going to go on an overseas adventure….maybe to Europe.
