Yaniv is a surprising, twisty dark comedy about a Jewish high school teacher in an underserved school in the Bronx whose funding for the school’s Spring Musical is cut by the administration. He visits his Grandfather to ask how he raised extra money. His Zaida tells him that he played a high-stakes version of the card game Yaniv at an underground location run by the Hasidic Community.

Community Film Spotlight:Walk With Me Thursday, August 21 at 2pm, Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival JCOGS member Heidi Levitt invites our community to a special screening of her powerful new documentary, Walk With Me, a deeply personal film chronicling her and her husband Charlie’s journey with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. LCH is looking for furniture and household items for three apartments they are opening to support families experiencing homelessness.
