Relating to Israel’s Trauma as North American Jews with Rabbi Dr. Joshua Ladon
Wednesday, November 29, 2023 • 16 Kislev 5784
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMOnline OnlyNorth American Jews experienced the Oct. 7th attacks as observers, witnesses, and victims. Each of those roles manifest a different type of response to the trauma that occurred. And, as Jews are anything except a monolith, the North American Jewish community is now responding to the trauma of Oct. 7th in a myriad of ways.
In these challenging times, the JCOGS community is invited to gather over Zoom for learning and conversation with Rabbi Dr. Joshua Ladon, the Director of Education at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. Together we will draw from ancient and contemporary Jewish texts as we reflect on what it means for North American Jews to make sense of the profoundly shattering events of Oct. 7th and look at how our different responses reflect authentic Jewish concerns.
