October 1: Kol Nidre Service 6:45 p.m (in person/online) The height of the year, as we pray for forgiveness and renewal.
October 2: Yom Kippur Day Service 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (in person/online) Music, services, Yizkor, family programming, learning, walk, yoga, and break-the-fast! Morning: 10:00 a.m. Morning services include music, prayer, powerful words of Torah, and a community Torah reading. 10:30-11:15 a.m. Parents and young children as well as youth, birth to 10 years old, Yom Kippur storytelling and activities on the JCOGS lower level. (IN PERSON ONLY) 12:45 p.m. Yizkor Memorial Service: Remembering those beloved who have passed away. 1:30 p.m. Learning session with Rabbi David 2:30 p.m. Walk together on the rec path. 3:30 p.m. Yoga for Yom Kippur: Lite stretching for body and soul Afternoon: 4:30 p.m. Minchah Afternoon Services, with youth retelling the dramatic story of Jonah and the whale. Kiddos and adults are invited to showcase their acting skills with scripts provided! 5:45 p.m. Ne’ilah Service: The gates close with these final, intimate prayers. Come hear the final shofar blast. Havdalah at 7:11 p.m. to break-the-fast.
October 5: Taco Truck & Sukkah-Raising 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM All hands on deck for all-you-can-eat tacos and to help build and decorate the sukkah!
October 8: Pizza in the Hut at Rabbi David & Alison’s Sukkah 4:15 PM - 6:00 PM Join JCOGS members and the wider community in Rabbi David and Alison’s home sukkah. Feel free to bring any friends along and a vegetarian side dish to share. Please RSVP for directions!
