Community Lighting of JCOGS Big Outdoor Menorah + Sufganiyot/donuts

We’ll gather together outdoors to light the first candle of Hanukkah with song and intention followed by noshing and shmoozing indoors. Open to all!
 
 
Family Hanukkah Party + Iron Chef

Come celebrate the Festival of Lights with the famous JCOGS Iron Chef Competition! Enter with an amazing dish prepared with the secret ingredient* or come hungry and vote. Fantastic prizes from local businesses. Bring your family menorah as we light up the dark together. Dreidel games, latkes, and song.

5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at United Church of Christ, Greensboro
Gather with our northern community at United Church in Greensboro for Hanukkah music with Rabbi David, a fabulous potluck, basking in the glow of the seventh candle. Bring your favorite menorah and a creative vegetarian dish to share as we celebrate the Festival of Lights together in the Northeast Kingdom. All are welcome!
 
 
Mad River Valley Hanukkah on Ice in Waterbury
Sunday, December 21, 2025 
4:30 PM - 6:00 PM at The Ice Center, Waterbury
The Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS) celebrates the Festival of Lights with the Mad River Valley Jewish Community and Waterbury-area communities at Waterbury Ice from 4:30-6:00pm. Come skate the afternoon away, light candles (bring your menorah) with song by Rabbi David, eat latkes, and donuts. All-ages, all-skating-abilities are welcome. Rental skates are $7/adult, $5/child, but numbers are limited. Please bring your own skates if you have them.

The USCRI (U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting refugees, immigrants, and others affected by forced or voluntary migration. Its mission is to protect their rights, address their needs, and help them transition to safe and dignified lives. USCRI operates both across the United States and internationally, with programs in countries such as Mexico, Kenya, El Salvador, and Honduras. Its work includes refugee resettlement services that assist newcomers with housing, employment, and community integration, as well as a wide range of immigration legal services like asylum support and family reunification. USCRI also provides specialized assistance to unaccompanied migrant children through home studies, case management, and post-release services.

At every JCOGS Hanukkah event, you can help USCRI refugees resettle in Vermont by bringing specific items in need.
