The USCRI (U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting refugees, immigrants, and others affected by forced or voluntary migration. Its mission is to protect their rights, address their needs, and help them transition to safe and dignified lives.
USCRI Vermont helps immigrants arriving in Vermont from many countries: Afghanistan, Burundi, DRC, Haiti, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Venzuela. Its work includes refugee resettlement services that assist newcomers with housing, employment, and community integration, as well as a wide range of immigration legal services like asylum support and family reunification. USCRI also provides specialized assistance to unaccompanied migrant children through home studies, case management, and post-release services.
At every JCOGS Hanukkah event, you can help USCRI refugees resettle in Vermont by bringing specific items in need. Please bring donations starting Sunday December 14th.
