Shanah Tovah everyone! In our own way, we have been curating and preparing for this beautiful new start.
While discussing the holidays with the Gesher students, I was moved by how they are preparing their growing minds for these special days. One student’s sentiment stuck with me in particular. They said “it’s okay if I only have one thing I want to work on for the new year. I’d rather work on one part of me and do a good job than try to work on all of me and fail.” How blessed we are to have such a thoughtful upcoming generation. I couldn’t agree more!
Some High Holiday Announcements:
Our high holiday schedule and registration can be found here, beginning with a 6:30 Erev service tonight, online and in person.
Rosh Hashanah Day 1 service from 9:30am - 2:00pm will be in person and online.
For all High Holiday services, childminders will be available downstairs in our library and classrooms for your kiddos to enjoy some activities during the main services. They have worked with us in past years, and are eager to help entertain your little ones.
On Day 1 of Rosh Hashanah and Day 1 of Yom Kippur, kids of all ages are invited downstairs for a Holiday program led by Katie Yoskowitz from 10:30-11:15. Kids are invited up to the main service afterward, but if playing is still in their hearts, childminders will be available until they are called upstairs. Please note, the playground will be closed for these two days.
On Rosh Hashanah Day 2, all are invited to a Family New Years Experience, Learning, and Dinner at JCOGS in person from 5:00-6:30pm. Parents and kids of all ages learn together about the why, what, and how of Rosh Hashanah. Celebratory family pizza dinner provided.
