Courageous Conversations: Hearing One Another on Israel Thursday, September 4 6:45-8:30pm In Person Join Rabbi David and fellow community members for an evening of open-hearted listening and honest conversation about Israel, Gaza, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and what it means to stay in relationship with fellow JCOGS community members, across our differences.
Come help shape JCOGS’ Tikkun Olam and social justice initiatives for the new year (in person and hybrid) Thursday, September 4, 5:15pm-6:30pm Together we will plan upcoming efforts for this new year of 5786, connect our work with broader community initiatives, and build on the passion and commitment already present at JCOGS. Bring your ideas and energy to share what you are most passionate about and the change you wish to see in our community and world at this moment. All ages and ideas welcome. Front Four Gallery in Stowe Presents: Inner Landscapes: Discovering the lifework of Peter Heller Opening of Exhibit is September 13, from 5-8pm Peter Heller was an abstract biomorphic painter born in 1929 to a Jewish family in Berlin, Germany. A Holocaust survivor, Heller was deeply influenced by both his experiences of the war, and by the artistic movements converging during his coming of age in France and New York. Front Four Gallery is dedicating their entire space to Heller’s work for a full scale exhibition that will be on view from September 13 - 30, 2025.
September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about hunger in the United States and provide nutritious food to neighbors facing hunger. Sadly, the number of people experiencing food insecurity continues to rise, including in Lamoille County. Start stocking up on healthy, high quality shelf-safe foods for our HHD Food Drive now!
