Yizkor Memorial service + Reflecting on the VT Flooding through Learning and Conversation:On this eighth day of Sukkot, we will gather for a Yizkor memorial service in memory of those beloved who have passed, led by Rabbi David. The end of Sukkot traditionally features “Tefilat Geshem,” a prayer for rain as the rainy season begins in the Land of Israel. Following Yizkor, join rabbinic intern Emmanuel Cantor and the JCOGS community as we reflect on this past summer’s flooding, the poetry of “Tefilat Geshem,” and how we relate to praying for rain at a time of ecological crisis.
