Parent checklist

Meet with coordinator to set date and service time.

Bring your child to Mitzvah! every Sunday and attend once a month Shabbat Services with them.

Pay membership dues or make arrangements for payments

Get your child to tutoring

Student meets with the rabbi to discuss the d'var Torah.

Assign honors to family and friends:
aliyot – usually assigned to parents and grandparents
opening the Ark
undressing the Torah
dressing the Torah
lifting the Torah (must be strong)
handing out candy (usually children)
English readings (optional)
giving of talit (parent or grandparent)

Provide rabbi with Hebrew names of those taking honors.

Prepare parent blessing.

Order or make a talit to present to your child.

Talk to office administrator: (Fill out the survey)
Number of attendees
Is there a kiddush luncheon? Will there be a caterer? Who will serve food and clean up?
Are there programs?
Is a photographer coming?
What are the costs of cleaning?

Schedule rehearsal with rabbi.

Create a program (optional).

Donate to rabbi's discretionary fund.
- Make arrangements to sponsor/host the oneg on Friday evening before the Mitzvah Ceremony
