After hearing from so many of our members that they want to learn more, be in community more, and listen more to each other on the topic of Israel, we’ve been on a listening campaign these past months called the Listening Project. Here’s an update and how you can get involved:
Phase one included two in person group meetings with Andy Robinson, who told us about his experience of interviewing 60+ American Jews about Israel, the conflict, the Israeli flag, antisemitism, etc., while leading us through some listening exercises. We then trained members of our own community to do interviews with JCOGS members.
In phase two right now through the end of 2024, we’ve been interviewing members, and the experience has been beyond wonderful. Members feel heard, with a sense of belonging and empowerment, and with closer connections to one another. We are now expanding our questions to include hearing your post-election thoughts. In the next few weeks, this is your LAST CHANCE to get interviewed one-to-one by oneof our amazing interviewers. Just email JCOGS member Amy Hoskins: amy.hoskins@jcogs.org.
Phase three will begin in 2025, with a series of intimate Kibbitz Conversations, gatherings to hear each other across difference, along with thought-provoking prompts for discussion. Stay tuned!
But for now, let us know if you want to be interviewed. You won’t regret it. Email amy.hoskins@jcogs.org.
