After seven weeks of preparing to receive the Torah, the moment has finally arrived. Join us for a 7pm guided meditation to awaken to wisdom, followed by 7:45pm candle-lighting, kiddush, cheesy desserts, and learning about and receiving the wisdom of the Ten Commandments and the wisdom within each of us. Known as Tikkun Leil Shavuot, the tradition of learning on Shavuot began as a mystical preparation for revelation. What will be revealed to you?

EDUCATION
Camp starts a week from today! Meet Degania, our delightful assistant counselor. Hailing from Denmark, Degania is excited to be working with us after visiting JCOGS last summer. She is a third generation educator (her dad was a colleague of Beth's at the Children's Museum of Manhattan and her grandmother was Beth's professor in graduate school!). Musical, artistic, and a climate activist, Degania has experience in numerous afterschool programs and will be working at a summer camp in Norway this year, too.
Please join us as Andy shares what he learned from 60+ conversations: how people are feeling, how they connect with Judaism, their experiences (or not) with antisemitism, their thoughts about Israeli and Palestinian societies, and possible paths to peace and reconciliation. A lite middle eastern dinner from Aladdin will be served.
