Today in Lamoille County, there are 69 adults and 27 children experiencing homelessness in our community. That’s why the Lamoille Community House is a near and dear organization to me. Now in its fifth season, LCH serves those experiencing homelessness in our county in its warming shelter. Here’s one small way that the shelter is making an impact, one quote from one of its guests earlier this winter: "Oh, you all saved me, it had been 4 days in my car already and I couldn't do it anymore. I'm so glad you're here."
Our JCOGS housing task force is taking on the goal of supplying the shelter with its most basic and needed current items. Can you please help? A big box is sitting outside the JCOGS front door waiting to be filled to the top. All items must be in their original packaging.
It’s a simple list. And they can be dropped off at the building ANY TIME that fits your schedule. Perhaps on your way into services tonight?
~ paper towels ~ paper plates & bowls ~ hot/cold cups ~ laundry pods ~ tissues ~ disposable razors
We have until March 4 to fill up the box (at least once!). Please consider contributing these items only to the Lamoille Community House by bringing them to JCOGS.
