This summer brings back some much needed normalcy to JCOGS. If you’ve joined us already for our weekly Shabbat services or at one of our Kibbitzes, you have already felt what was missing all these months in quarantine. It is good to be back.
The board has decided to bring back a community favorite — the Summer BBQ, this year combined with the summer fundraiser and a wonderful auction. Underwritten by the board, we anticipate 100% board presence and we sincerely hope that we get an enormous JCOGS community turnout on par with the High Holy Days. This will be an opportunity for all of us to meet and greet at an informal, family friendly event. Save the date now, as I know calendars fill up quickly: August 22, 5-7pm
My letter that came with the JCOGS membership renewal a few weeks ago included an appeal for increased engagement and volunteerism. The JCOGS board has a goal that at least 90% of our members give some time to JCOGS, whether it be in helping with a program, setting up chairs, organizing the storage room, or any of what seems to be an infinite number of things that JCOGS needs help in doing. The Board members and committee chairs at the BBQ will be clad in t-shirts and will welcome the chance to tell you all about what we are doing and how you can help.
Finally, if you have not yet done so, please renew your membership here as soon as you can, or if you are new to our community, please consider joining JCOGS as only we can build community together.
Time, talent, and treasure - 100% participation - JCOGS back to normal and well beyond.
