Time is short. There’s last minute cleaning and cooking to be done. Preparations for the Seder, like charoset to chop up and tables to set. For the Night of Questions, allow me to offer some answers:
Try this simple The Wandering is Over Haggadah (the same one we will be using at our Freedom Singing Seder & Discussion). In its first pages, it has a detailed introduction on getting ready for a Seder.
Want to know how to kasher your kitchen?
Watch Rabbi Ethan Tucker from Hadar teach you how to get your kitchen ready. Blowtorch optional!
What should I listen to as I’m cooking?
Here’s a wonderful video of Passover melodies from the
Israeli Philharmonic.
Will I be ready in time?
Come by JCOGS before 3pm today and pick up your last matzah and a couple bottles of Kosher for Passover wine.
AND...of course you will. You always are, every Passover. Even if your bread doesn’t rise in time (let’s hope not) and you have to eat matzah again this year for eight days—just plan to sit back, recline, and enjoy. Stop stressing. Life’s too short for that.
See you on the other side of the shores. Wishing you all a happy and above all, a HEALTHY Passover. Next year in Jerusalem!
Tihiyu bri’im, stay safe, be well. Shabbat Shalom and Chag Pesach Sameach,
Rabbi David
p.s. VOLUNTEER ALERT: Remember when we ate delicious meals together? We will again—promise! We are changing up our kitchens, and need some help lugging some of the stuff in the kitchen out into the social hall. Contact jcogs@jcogs.org if you are free any daytime hours Thursday, April 1st. We will be following COVID safety precautions throughout.
