COVID-19 has upended so many aspects of our lives. It affects how we shop, how we socialize, and how we pray. For many members of our community, it has also affected access to food. Food insecurity is all too common across Vermont and the world.
This year, on Giving Tuesday, JCOGS is proud to partner with Salvation Farms, which distributes surplus produce from local farms to the community. They bring what is leftover from harvests to those who are experiencing food insecurity through Bounty Boxes at local healthcare providers and schools. Their work supports both farmers and people in need of fresh and healthy food.
The Torah says that farmers should leave harvest leftovers for those who are struggling to feed themselves. This Giving Tuesday, let’s come together to help support that work right here in the Lamoille Valley. We hope you will join us in donating to Salvation Farms, making sure that the food left from a harvest gets to those most in need.
