Mitzvah blog

My name is Noa Ibson. I am thirteen years old and go to Harwood Union Middle School in Duxbury, Vermont. I love to play lacrosse, ski, travel, go on fun walks or hikes with my dog, and swim. My Bat Mitzvah is May 29, and my Torah portion is Beha'alotcha. In my Torah portion there is a lot of complaining, so in my d’var I am focusing on the good and bad parts of complaining.  Another part of my Torah portion is focused on women's rights. For my Mitzvah project I am working with Mosaic Vermont whose mission is to “heal communities and end sexual violence.”

My name is Scarlett Epstein.  I am a student at Tappan Middle School in Ann Arbor, and I am in 7th grade. I was born in Ann Arbor, MI and still live there. Some things I like to do for fun are go on bike rides, bake, play games, and hang out with friends. For my mitzvah project I am working with food insecurity. I am doing this because I feel it is important for every person to be able to have 2-3 meals a day. My bat mitzvah is going to be with my cousin Noa Ibson, I am very excited for us to be sharing this special day together.
