9:30 AM - 1:30 PMJCOGSHave you ever wondered what happens at traditional Jewish schools of learning (yeshivas) across the world, but were too intimidated to find out? Come to this accessible, modern remaking of yeshiva for a day. We’ll spend our time praying, eating, and learning from our new Siddur Lev Shalem prayer book.
Schedule, all out in the tent:
9:30am Bagels, schmear, lox, and coffee from The Bagel
10am Creative Shacharit morning service with prayer, meditation, and Torah reading
10:45am Group tefillin wrapping. Ever wanted to wrap tefillin or just learn about this ritual? Don’t even know what tefillin are? Come learn and try it out.
11:15am Chevruta study: simple study in groups of 3-4 people on sacred, provocative texts from the new Siddur. Groups will be divided into those who have experience and prefer reading and studying in Hebrew (moderate Hebrew level, English translation available), and those who prefer to study all in English.
12pm Group study session on the meaning of prayer, theology (the understanding of prayer), facilitated by Rabbi David based on your chevruta learning experience.
