While we had planned to hold an in-person tashlich and shofar blowing on Sunday, if 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we need to be ready to adjust plans. Due to a slight uptick in COVID positives in the area, we are exercising an abundance of caution and adhering to the principle of pikuach nefesh (sanctity of life). On Sunday’s second day of Rosh Hashanah, we are shifting our programming to drive-in shofar blowing only, with two locations.
Details:
• If you are sick please stay home
• All participants must stay in their cars from the moment they drive up to the moment they drive away. No exceptions.
• Park with an empty parking spot between each car.
• With masks on, open your car windows to hear the shofar, which will be blown from a safe distance.
Sunday, September 20:
11:30am Harwood Union High School parking lot
1pm JCOGS parking lot
We are so grateful to our shofar blowers and to the Harwood administrators for making this shift possible.
Thank you all for keeping our communities safe as we celebrate these holidays.
We encourage you to experience tashlich on your own, with your family, or with your pod. Here is a resource created for you as you set out at the water’s edge. To download and print a copy, click here.
