Shavuot on the Mountain—June 8-9

For All-Ages @ JCOGS

An inspirational weekend immersed in the beauty of the natural world, learning, hiking, singing, and dancing. Come for all or part of this communal celebration.

SATURDAY, JUNE 8

9:30-11:30 a.m. - YOUNG FAMILIES Kinderlach and Gesher Shavuot program for Families and lite lunch

3 p.m. ALL-AGES Blintz Making Blitz and Berry Bonanza Jewish Cooking

3-5:30 p.m. - Registration and Arrival

5 p.m. ALL-AGES Potluck* Dinner - Bring a vegetarian dish to go with our blintzes. *Please no peanut or peanut products.

6 p.m. - ADULTS Managing Stress in a Busy World: Jewish Perspectives, Group Practice, and Socrates Cafe.  YOUTH Shavuot Games. TEEN Robust program.

8 p.m. - ALL-AGES Stories, S'mores, and Songs around the Fire (bring your instruments) followed by 9:30 p.m. Havdalah.

10 p.m.- ADULTS Ecstatic Dance interspersed with themes of revelation led by Rabbi Lee Moore. Learning and Meditation into the Night.

SLEEPOVER All are invited to sleepover either in a tent outside or in the building.

 

SUNDAY, JUNE 9

5 a.m. Early Morning Hike—For Ambitious Hikers

7:30 a.m. Breakfast

9 a.m. ALL-AGES HIKE Meet promptly outside the Mansfield Lodge at Stowe Resort. 1.5 mile Moderate hike, accessible for kids and families.

10:45 a.m. TOLL ROAD CAR RIDE.  Carpools meet to drive up the Toll Road to the Chapel. Registration needed.

11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m Festive Singing, Interactive Torah Service, First Fruits Parade at the Mountain Chapel led by Rabbi David, Rabbi Jan, and others.

1:00 p.m. Simple sandwich lunch provided.  Or bring your own.
