Second Annual Pride Seder 2023 at OZ: This program is hosted by OZ’s LGBTQ+ Chavurah
Wednesday, September 6, 2023 • 20 Elul 5783
7:30 PM - 9:00 PMThe second annual Pride Seder is a ritual that chronicles the liberation of LGBTQ+ people, much like the Passover Seder, which retells the story of the liberation of the Jewish people. Join a diverse gathering of Vermont LGBTQ+ Jews, Jew-adjacent folks and allies to celebrate our coming out of bondage with songs, prayers, and an unusual and poignant seder plate. The event is designed for people roughly ages 13 and up. People of all ages are welcome.
If you would like to help out or be a reader, please leave a comment when you register via the link below or via this LGBTQ+ interest form.
Event History: The first Pride Seder took place in 1995, using a Haggadah written by Ray Schnitzler and Susie Kisber, of the Berkeley Queer Minyan. Copies of the Haggadah travelled to B’nai Jeshurun in New York, Sha’ar Zahav in San Francisco and many other communities around the world. We look forward to adapting this Haggadah for our first Vermont event.
The Vermont Pride Seder come four days before the Vermont Pride Festival Parade. We invite you to march with us at the Vermont Pride Parade (more info here) on September 10.

This program is hosted by OZ’s LGBTQ+ Chavurah.
