she/her/hers

Rabbi Lonnie Kleinman is excited to join Keshet as Associate Director of Education and Training. Prior to joining Keshet, Lonnie served as a chaplain resident at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, where she met and journeyed alongside patients and families. She was also the fellowship coordinator at Tribe12, where she brought a queer lens to programming.

Lonnie holds a BA in Religious Studies and Art History from Lewis and Clark College and a MA in Hebrew Letters and Ordination from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. She is passionate about relational organizing and pastoral care in dreaming of a future in which all LGBTQ+ people are seen and affirmed, and liberation exists for us all. She loves gathering inspiration for dreaming and living out this world through Talmud study, especially as exemplified in the holy connections of hevruta study. Lonnie is a trained spiritual director, ritualist, and death educator.

Originally from Tucson, Az, on Tohomo O’odham land, Lonnie is a queer, fat femme. She currently lives in Philadelphia, on Lenape land, where she is a part of the inaugural cohort for Based-In, an initiative of Base. In her free time, she tends to her garden and house plants and hikes in the woods with her pup.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
