Rabbi Michael Margaretten Cohen is a faculty member at the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Bennington College and Director of Community Relations for the Friends of Arava Institute. A former Policy Advisor to the U.S. State Department’s Office of the Special Envoy for Middle East Peace and Speechwriter Adviser in the White House, he is rabbi emeritus of the Israel Congregation in Manchester Center, Vermont, a regular contributor to the Jerusalem Post, and the author of "Einstein’s Rabbi: A Tale of Science and the Soul."

Raised in a Reform synagogue in Chicago with a dynamic music program, Rabbi Michal Woll has been singing in shul since she was eight and now brings her passion for music, teaching, ritual, and Judaism to Shir Hadash, which she joined in 2017 after serving congregations in Vermont, Michigan, and Milwaukee. A gifted rabbi, liturgist, pastoral counselor, physical therapist, and yogi, she has 25 years of experience and three advanced degrees. After graduating from Northwestern University and M.I.T. in bioengineering, she worked in the medical device industry developing dialysis and burn care products, where she discovered a lasting interest in medical ethics and quality-of-life issues that led her to clinical medicine, chaplaincy, and ultimately the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, from which she graduated in 2007. Nationally, Rabbi Woll is affiliated with T’ruah: The Rabbinical Call for Human Rights and Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action. She now lives in Middlebury, Vermont, with her husband, writer and publisher Jon M. Sweeney, and their daughter Sima.
