Rabbi David and Jonathan Golden Ph.D. will facilitate the final two workshops from the Shalom Hartman iEngage Curriculum “Israel’s Milestones and Their Meanings.” Through ancient and modern source texts, and the values and historical backdrop that set off these debates, we will explore these timely topics together.  Please bring a light nosh (vegetarian and peanut-free).

Thursday, Aug. 22 | "Judea and Samaria: Occupation or Liberation"
Thursday, Sep. 5 | “One State, Two States: Moral Red Lines"

The iEngage Project works to build new foundations for a relationship between world Jewry and the State of Israel.  By elevating the conversation beyond the focus on crises and politics, to a discourse grounded in Jewish values, aspirations, and ideas, iEngage provides individuals and communities with a new vocabulary regarding Israel.  This vocabulary transcends the divisive communal divides and provides new avenues for understanding and engagement.

The Shalom Hartman Institute is a pluralistic center of research and education that deepens and elevates the quality of Jewish life in Israel and around the world.  Through our work, we redefine the conversation about Judaism in modernity, religious pluralism, Israeli democracy, Israel and world Jewry, and the relationships with other faith communities.
